Abstract: "Anti-family" is just one of the changes that have been brought against feminists by groups calling themselves "pro-family." In this fourth paper in the Feminist Perspective Series, Margrit Eichler examines the policies of the National Action Committee on the Status of Women (NAC) concerning wives, homemakers, and mothers to determine whether these changes are accurate or not. She then goes on to look at the central positions of so-called "pro-family" groups such as Real Women and the Alberta Federtion of Women United for Families. Eichler concludes by addressing the following quesitons What kind of family is the "pro-family" movement promoting? What will happen to Canadian Families if the movements' policies are accepted? What can feminists do to prevent the restoration of the patriarchal family?
