Inspired by a real-life mine collapse on the Franco-German border, French miners are entombed after a firedamp explosion traps them underground and must be rescued by their German colleagues.

Abstract:
-

Kameradschaft is a 1931 dramatic film directed by Austrian director G. W. Pabst, and was inspired by a real-life mine collapse on the Franco-German border in the early twentieth century. When a firedamp explosion traps a team of French miners underground on the frontier between Germany and France, workers on both sides of the border must put aside their national prejudices and wartime grudges to engage in a dangerous rescue operation.
