The 100-Mile Diet A Year of Local Eating
Smith, Alisa and Mackinnon, J.B. Publisher: Random House of Canada Year Published: 2007 Resource Type: Book
Abstract: The one hundred mile diet started as experiment in eating goods grown locally which has now inspired individuals and communities to change the way they eat. The book creates awareness of the need to preserve agricultural land and to support local farmers and food producers. Food produced locally tastes better, is good environmentally and is better for our health-the food is seasonally bought and is fresh. Stories of their food quest and culinary adventures are mingled with thoughts on how we are spoiling the earth.
